If you ask Sean if he's a big boy, he replies, "Nope, Oma's Dutch boy!"
Hunter is getting his fur buzzed today at Danielle's Boarding Kennels, wonder if he'll recognize us!

I bought 2 tickets to the Wiggles concert for Sunday, August 17, 2003 at CSU Convocation Center. I think Sean & Daddy will be going to "Giggle with the Wiggles!" This will be Sean's first live concert!

Nothing much eventful today except for the fact that Hunter ate Alison's $20 Target gift certificate from Easter (must have been the delicious flowers on it!) and Sean chewed up a refrigerator magnet. What's with these boys? What's with their Mom??

Sean sure tries to be a B I G help at times! This morning, I heard him say poo-poo-nachi and went to check his diaper. He had already taken his pj pants off, taken his (yes you guessed it) poopy diaper off and was peeing a waterfall in the middle of his room! I laughed so hard I cried while at the same time trying to hurry him out of his room to clean him up. Luckily it was an easy clean up. Remember, Sean is a B I G help these days so he keeps us on our toes!
At least I learned from the last poop incident......I was filling up the bathtub with bubbles and left Sean naked in his room, boy did I get a surprise and the carpet cleaners paid some bills...lol.

Today Alison had a day off of school and she spent all morning playing with Sean. He started calling her "Sissy" which really annoys Alison so she settles with "Sister" or "Sis." Alison can hum about 6 songs from her favorite group Justincase and Sean can guess what song she is humming in about 4 notes! They made a sound tape together for Nick of Justincase's birthday. Well, that's the local report from the life of a little Dutch boy and his teen!
One more thing......there's a big "Daddy's Fan Club!" Ask Sean and Bas about that one!

Yesterday when Bas came home from work Sean was playing in his bedroom. Bas stopped in to talk to him and Sean was looking at a black "thing" on the carpeting. He explained to Papa that it was "my spider!" Gotta love 2 year olds....

What a great day to go to the zoo yesterday and even Bas took half a day off of work to join us! Whenever the weather is nice enough to be outside, you'll find Sean at the zoo. Sean's favorites were the windmill and the bubbles in Australian Adventure, the polar bears, especially the bubbles falling from the cliff in the polar bear area, making dust when stomping in sand, clearing sand off of rocks, walking I mean "running FAST" by himself, sitting down and reading a book that was in the pocket of his stroller, and eating fries and chicken from McD's before we left. When we left (after about 2.5 hrs.), Sean said he was ready for a nightie night!

One more thing for Alison's birthday:
1. Forget the MP3 player, she really wants her own golf cart.

More ideas NOT for Alison's birthday:
1. A TV for her room (no room for it, guess why)
2. A cell phone, she borrows her Mom's all the time
A big something for her birthday:
1. Rental of a crane for the removal of all the items in her room (well she tells me the room is somewhere in there).

Alison took her ACT College Entrance Exams today, good luck Alison!
Bas & I started our BIG workout at the Rec today. We are doing the strenth training (Nautilus) program. I found out my arms are really weak. Bas's goal is working on his legs because he's starting on a Wadsworth soccer team next week. Sean goes to the Tot room and loves playing with all the cool toys they have.
Hunter went to the Vet today, had his heartworm test, and got his nails clipped.....boy do they love him there! I brought Cheerios for Hunter to have while waiting to get examined but Sean saw the bag and ate most of them. Hunter is 63 lbs. and a sweet, couch-potato dog. Sean has been calling him "Wags" and "Spot" for some reason.
Ideas for Alison's birthday:
1. Her Driver's License
2. MP3 player
3. A car
4. Boxes of Scooby Doo cereal
5. Gum
6. Summer clothes
7. Things to dangle from the rearview mirror of the car she doesn't have yet!

I had one of those late inventory jobs last night. It began at 10 pm at Old Navy in Avon Commons. I got home around 4 am, warmed up some leftover pizza and poured a much needed glass of Pepsi and went to bed. I turned on the Game Show Network and began to watch some black & white "What's My Line" show. Boy was I tired. I turned around in bed and must have jumped a little too much because Bas sat up and was quite scared. I told him I was only turning around in bed! I'm not sure what he thought, maybe he was in the middle of a dream. Thanks for protecting our family, Bassie, only this time you were protecting us from ME!!! Thank God Sean still takes naps because I sure needed some sleep today.
One of our favorite things to do when Papa gets home from work is go for a walk with Sean and Hunter. They are the best of buddies and share branches with each other! Sean has the habit lately of running up to people's front doors. Bas went to get him for about the third time today before he actually knocked at the door and Sean said he wanted to see Big Mac. They had a RV parked in their driveway and I keep telling Sean you can't touch people's cars and go in their yards unless you ask them first. Sean was only going to ask the Big Mac'sowners if he could look at their RV Papa!!! What a cool dude! Greg, is Sean's picture still in your refrigerator?

Why is it that Sean does great on the potty when he's alone with me at home? On weekends when everyone is here, Sean's toilet training seems to go to the pot! I guess I'm boring and when Papa and Alison are here, there are better things to do. Well, at least he's taking 5 steps forward and 2 steps back.....we're getting somewhere.
The Indians home opener was weathered out. They (not sure who they is) were predicting a BIG winter storm with freezing rain and possibly 6-8" of that white stuff but as far as I can tell it is rain and our backyard is a swamp. The opener is rescheduled for tomorrow.

Sean was getting ready for a shower with Papa this morning and was running around in just a diaper. He was running so fast that he went flying and landed into the the legs of a table in the bedroom. Thinking he's going to let out a big scream, instead he layed there and got this big grin on his face and said, "Fall like a football player!" Hmmm, like father, like son. Ask Wout & Riet about Bas's early days.
Alison is off with Bas driving on the big highway. This is her first time on I-71. Report to follow....

Today is a rainy, rainy cold day but Sean sure made it brighter by using his little potty. He made the comment after helping me empty the cup of the potty into the toilet, "That's a big momma, mom!" You'll understand this one Papa! He's been asking to use the potty off and on for about a month. Way to go Seany!
Alison's track team beat St. Joseph Academy on Wednesday. Let's hope Alison's leg gets better soon so she can participate. She was in Seabrooke Island (near Charleston), SC all last week with Michelle and her family and got an inflammation on the bottom of her right leg. Get better Alison.
