Just back from our rental van trip to Aiken. Bas had to work late almost everyday but he still had time to take a dip in the pool at Annie's Inn (2nd. time staying here)!
Sean loved playing on the steps of the pool with his watering can and throwing balls into the pool and having Alison throw them back. He also loved the "dribble, dribble" of the fountain.
Alison met up with a friend she met at last year's Youth Group Work Camp whose father was transferred to Aiken.
Aiken was green from a rainy spring and summer that finally broke the 100 year drought.
Sean had the stomach flu yesterday and kept spitting and bleeding (as he calls vomiting) and Hunter came home from the kennel with a cough. Now I'm busy getting my boys better again!

What a nice, sunny (for once), and not-humid-at-all weekend. On Friday, as Sean says, we let Hunter visit his doggy friends at the new Lakewood Off-leash Dog Park. Hunter is quite friendly with the other dogs AND their human owners.
Saturday, we had a busy day planned. Sean couldn't wait to see the Tall Ships docked at the East 9th. (whoops, I mean the re-named Rock -n- Roll Boulevard) docks. There were about 15 huge sailboats from the USA, Canada, India, and the Netherlands. Bas got to talk a little Dutch with a sailor on the Dutch Europa ship. Sean had a good time running around and playing on the grassy hills. Sean even reunited a lost duck with its family! Mom & Dad had to make sure he didn't go overboard into Lake Erie.
After watching the ships, we stopped in at the Indians/White Sox game at Jacobs Field.
Sean had quite an experience. We were sitting in the picnic area right above the Indians bullpen and ooooops, Sean dropped his Matchbox pickup truck right down onto the grass in the bullpen. Luckily, David Riske (the Indians pitcher) was right there and threw a 90 miles per hour flat fish slider right to Papa!! It took two tries but Sean has his truck back! Thanks David!
Sunday, we took a bike ride to Dairy Queen because Sean loves the vanilla ice cream in a kids cup with sprinkles. Afterwards, we rode to the Strongsville playground and Sean had the time of his life sliding, jumping, running, and hiding!
Good weekend Besouw's!

One more thing....it's the weekend!

We took Sean to the Strongsville fireworks on July 4 but it was way too noisy for him. We had to get him right out of there. Of course, he talked about the fireworks for days afterwards and even pretends he's a firework!
On Wednesday we went to the Indians/Yankees game.....Tribe lost! Sean had such a great time, we sat in the picnic area right by the Tribes bull pen. Sean clapped whenever the fans went crazy.....he was not scared at all. And of course he found the very toddler-friendly playground. He told me the hot dog was very good too!
Alison has spent the week in New Jersey at St. Adalbert Youth Group Work Camp helping out those less fortunate with weeding, painting, and general maintenance. I'll have her report all about it when she returns.
In a week, we'll all be driving to Aiken for a week. We'll be staying (again) at Annie's Inn. Sean is excited to ride in a van again! Alison is excited because you know Southern guys are hot!
