"Where Did the Summer Go?" It seems like summer quickly faded away.......we had SNOW this week. Yes, it was the SSSSS Word! I've been very busy the last few weeks. I have started my Master's Degree at Cleveland State University and am taking 2 classes for 5 hrs. every Monday until mid December. I am also getting certified in the Wilson Reading System program for dyslexics. This course is 90 hours of coursework and 60 one-on-one student-teacher lessons. Alison is attending Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) as well as Strongsville High School and is doing very well. She just got a job at Breads & Beyond Bakery. She will be on the clean-up crew and eventually work the counter. Sean has decided he is very much afraid of THUNDER and has given his mom and dad a lack of sleep lately. He is gradually becoming less and less afraid of the THUNDERBALL. Let's just hope it doesn't thunder again for a very long, long time........when he's 18! Sean is going to the library story hour and taking swimming (he thinks it's playing) lessons at the Rec Center. At the end of August, we had a wonderful vacation with Bas's parents in Duck, NC or if you prefer, The Outer Banks. It was beautiful weather and we did lots of swimming in the ocean and playing in the sand. Sean would not step into the ocean but he loved the sand. After our vacation, 2 weeks later we went back to North Carolina (right after Hurricane Isabel) and visited Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Boone is in the deep mountains of NC so the hurricane did not affect our trip. What a nice 8 hr. drive! A week after our Boone trip, we went to Toronto to see the Indians play the Blue Jays. It was a good MINUTE long ballgame for us......Sean was afraid of all the noise in the enclosed Stadium. We went on the Subway for a train ride to a big mall in Toronto. On the way home, we spend a little while in Niagara Falls and Sean was very impressed with the HUGE bubblefall! Some recent funny sayings of Seany: "Sure you can!" "I want to play with the game I don't like!" Covering his ears, "I don't wanna see you!" "I'M NOT SEAN.......I'M Justin or Kenny or a doggie or a kitty or a race car or an airplane or a train or a drummer or a violin player!" posted by Gretchen 11:25 PM
